Resources

Students and staff at Bourke Public School are lucky enough to have access to all the latest and up to date technology. We have over 60 computers within the school, along with DV iMacs, Colour Laser Printer, Digital Still Cameras and a Digital Video Camera. We are a Macintosh school.

Technology Lessons

Students get at least one hour a week in our Computer Lab. These lessons are taught by one or two Teachers within the school : Dee Punch-Halloran and Alison Milliken. During this time students are learning about new software, creating web pages and exploring the Internet. We use a Light Pro LCD Projector to teach these lessons.

Software

We use a variety of Software programs within the school. Some of our favourites are Kid Pix Studio Deluxe, Claris Home Page 3.0, Adobe Photo Deluxe, Imovie, Microsoft Office 2001 and The Writing Centre.

Networking/New Developments

At the end of 1999 we networked the computers in our school. This has enabled us to have Internet access from all locations in the school. It has also allowed us to have classrooms linked to the File Server and for students to save their work to the Server and then pick it up from any computer within the school. Towards the end of 2001 we developed a school Intranet - through this we have been able to share students work in a safe environment.
